Your Next Opportunity:
Join Harwood Marine and embark on an exciting career as a Fitter or Fitter Machinist. As part of our skilled team, you will play a pivotal role in the assembly, maintenance, and repair of marine machinery and equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the seamless operation of our vessels and optimising their performance.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting precise fitting and assembly of mechanical components, following technical specifications
- Performing maintenance, servicing, and repairs on marine machinery, including engines, pumps, and propulsion systems
- Fabricating and modifying parts as required
- Collaborating with the team to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring efficient and timely resolution
- Adhering to strict safety protocols and contributing to a secure working environment
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
To be considered for these roles, you will need prior experience in a similar role as well as relevant trade qualifications. We are also open to third or fourth year apprentices who have had some exposure to similar roles and are looking to kickstart their careers with us.
Your attention to detail and your ability to adapt to challenging situations as they arise will be critical to your continued success with Harwood Marine.
Additional requirements include:
- Willingness to undergo a national police check
- Ability and willingness to continue to learn while on the job
- Commitment to safety protocols and practices, ensuring a secure and safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality craftsmanship and precision in mechanical fitting and assembly, showcasing your attention to detail and adherence to technical specifications.
Although not essential, the proven ability to interpret technical drawings and plans will be highly advantageous.
